EMERGENCY AND DISASTER
Gospel Topic: Emergency preparedness
Our responsibility is to provide for ourselves and our families both in good times and in bad. Part of fulfilling that obligation is making preparations now to face whatever challenges may come our way.

Elder L. Tom Perry instructed, “Start now to create a plan if you don’t already have one, or update your present plan . . . The instability in the world today makes it imperative that we take heed of the counsel and prepare for the future.”

EARTHQUAKE
The information and links below are for Utah and are included as examples only:
Earthquakes are a significant threat to Utah. Thousands of earthquakes happen each year in Utah, most too small to be felt. However, the potential for a large, damaging earthquake is very real. Living with earthquakes requires preparation, taking simple steps before an earthquake can limit its threat.
What do you do during an earthquake? An earthquake is the sudden, rapid shaking of the earth, caused by the breaking and shifting of underground rock. Earthquakes can cause buildings to collapse and cause heavy items to fall, resulting in injuries and property damage. Learn how to respond.
